During the trip to Liverpool, we visited two galleries; the Walker Art Gallery and the Tate Art Gallery. I found the Walker gallery to be quite outdated as most of the work I saw was old (for example medieval and Victorian). This however allowed me to see how art has developed over time. I did enjoy some of the more abstract pieces of work as this is more relevant to my project. Some artists that inspired me are Samir Addo, Gary Lawrence, Pete Clarke and Virginia Verran.
On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the Tate museum, I found it to be really up yo date with current trends and allowed me to take away inspiration. I noticed that alot of the art was focused around places and buildings, very similar to my brief. Some particular artists that I liked include Kiluanji Kia Henda, Joseph Beuys(Halved felt cross over cologne) and Brassai. I was also intrigued by the op art movement.
