For the next workshop, we moved onto something more complex, we started to make objects move. For a homework task, we were instructed to create 10 illustrations on our favourite book. I chose Harry Potter, and produced drawings of Harry’s scar and glasses, broom sticks, a golden snitch, sorting hat and so on. Harry Potter is one of my most favourite movie franchises, and I know lots about it. I decided to create the illustrations digitally on Photoshop as I have a Surface Pro. This means I can use my pen and get up close to the screen to create effortless drawings, this also gives a more professional look. Firstly, I added all of my illustrations onto the same composition on After Effects. After this, I simply began adding different transitions such as opacity, scale and rotation to create a cool animation. I searched on Youtube for a suitable song to put into the background of my work. This adds to the whole Harry Potter vibe as the song I chose is quite mysterious and magical. I found this quite difficult as it was my first time working properly with key frames and stopwatches.
