This workshop involved creating a short 10 second animation about a font of our choice. I chose Helvetica as my projects have been heavily influenced by it. Firstly, I created a series of stills in Photoshop as this is the programme that I am most familiar with. Obviously, I used the Helvetica typeface and also used the colours red, white and black are these are the most used in Swiss style design as the connote the Swiss flag. However, I had to ensure that I saved the stills as PSD’s and opened them on After Effects as composition layers so that I could edit them. In the animation, I explored motion techniques such as transitions to add more excitement to my work. I think my animation turned out well as the colours I have used connote Swiss Style, which is a movement that was born out of the Helvetica typeface.
