Kinetic Type 2

For this session, we were required to bring sketches. I wanted to base mine around the theme of flowers. I also brought a quote as I thought this could be a nice finishing touch. I decided to produce my illustrations digitally as this gave a neater outcome than scanning sketches in onto the computer. Like previous animations, I had to set up the document to 1080 x 1920 and set the frame rate to 25 per second. I imported each separate sketch as layers so that I could individually manipulate each different illustration. After this, I selected my sketches and arranged them on a Z axis in the order that I thought was best. In order for this to work, I also had to make sure that each layer was on 3D mode. The next step was to turn on the camera. I found this quite difficult and I couldn’t quite keep up, meaning I feel behind. To turn on the camera, I selected the layer, new and then camera. I then got a red triangle which allowed me to position the camera however I wanted. I added time stops to the frame so that the camera would continuously zoom in during the span of the animation. Along with this, I also added some transitions such as opacity changes so that different sketches could be seen behind layers coming towards the camera. At the end of the animation, I included a quote which relates to the flower theme- “love is the flower you’ve got to let grow”.
