Narrative Development

For the first session of this workshop, John told us to bring a newspaper. We then had to look through the paper and merge different headlines and words. I decided to go for Salad Cream ‘a life saver’ in cancer treatment. I went with this as it’s so unique and weird. I then had the difficult task of creating the story. I found this hard as I don’t have much experience with creative writing. After I had written the narrative, I created a mood board with images relating to my story, I also included characters so the audience could associate with the story more. Most of my images are medical based. For the last session, I produced thumbnail sketches and mock ups of what I wanted my final story to look like. I printed various different sizes of font and tried my story with both serif and sans serif typography. This allowed me to see which size and font was the best. news article 1
